Miesha Theresa

Miesha Theresa Tate is an American mixed martial arts expert. A former mixed martial art practitioner, she participated in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and is a former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. Born in Tacoma, Washington, she was an active participant in sports throughout her childhood. Her first experience with a mixed martial arts group in Central Washington University after a friend recommended it. She fought her first amateur match when she was twenty against Elizabeth Posener who was a Muay Thai specialist. After that, at the One-night HOOKnSHOOT Women's Great Prix She made her professional debut. In the space of 2 years, she took home the FCF Women's Bantamweight Championship for first time. Tate was highly praised and applauded for her style of fighting, which incorporated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wrestling. In the following years, her renown increased when she was the first woman to win the Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Championship. In addition to her career in mixed martial arts, she has also modelled for a variety of publications and websites like 'ESPN the Magazine', and 'Fitness Gurls'.
