Vinita Nair
In July of 2004 she joined the station covering a number of stories, such as the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair became an ABC News anchor/correspondent in December 2007 for ABC News Now. She was responsible for anchoring live news coverage as well as briefings on ABC's network's digital platforms. Nair was co-anchoring World News Now on ABC from September 17, 2008. through the 18th of February, 2011 as well as America This Morning. For both of these shows, she was partnered first by Jeremy Hubbard then later Rob Nelson. Nair revealed on Thursday, 17 February 2011 that her final night of working on broadcasting for World News Now would be the evening of Friday, 18th February. Also, it would be her final day on ABC News. The former KDVR Denver anchor Peggy Bunker was her immediate successor. World News Now, February 18th included three tributes to Nair. Current and former colleagues also appeared in the segments. The morning she left she treated her team to a delicious breakfast.
