Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals straightforward and simple cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell also worked at the top New York restaurants, has been studying Italian cuisine and its traditions and has competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion of cooking and food early on. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In her time in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which left a lasting impact in her point of view. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to increase the quality of life for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. She travels frequently around the country in her role as a mentor as well as a public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with the people around her.
